Selling Your Grain To Western
At Western we offer various programs for the purchase of your grains and roughages. We specialize in prompt and courteous farm pick up of your barley.

Deferred Contracts
- Forward contracting opportunities may be applied to any WCE Barley Futures.
- We offer both Basis and Flat Pricing.
- Basis contracts can be placed on any business day prior to the delivery of grain. Basis contracts are placed at the producers discretion.
- Western offers Price Protection with the option program. With a minimum price contract to producers at a cost not exceeding a preset amount per metric tonne.
- On a deferred flat price the producer is ensured protection to the price Downside.
- By applying the option program producers establish a minimum price contract that incorporates Upside Protection.
Cash Offers
- Deliveries are priced based on the Friday close of the WCE, prior to the week of delivery.
- Cash offers available on a daily basis.
Production Contracts
- Production contracts are applied on an acreage basis with a minimum of 160 acres.
- Producer contracts may encompass the total production from the land base. Western will guarantee delivery.
- Delivery time frames are commonly associated with harvest pickup to free up bin space, however delivery time frame can encompass the entire feeding season.
- Minimum and maximum production levels are set at the time the contract is created.
- The producer guarantees a minimum production delivery, while Western provides the option of a higher production delivery.
Settlements
- Settlement arrangements may be made with our Commodities Department prior to or upon delivery of your grain. Settlements may be split or deferred.
- Payments are scheduled to be paid one week after delivery of the grain.
